Evidence from New Zealand shows that families felt gratitude and relief when their loved ones were no longer forced into drawn-out suffering, and they no longer had to witness it. #AssistedDying

Dr Snelling, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law at the University of Otago, told the Committee that the overwhelming feedback from patients and families in New Zealand was gratitude. Even relatives who were initially unsure often became advocates of #AssistedDying.

Evidence from New Zealand challenges claims about coercion. Disabled patients reported that relatives tended to urge them away from assisted dying rather than push them toward it. #AssistedDying

Health Minister Stephen Kinnock told the Lords that the Assisted Dying Bill strikes the balance between 'access and safety'. Kinnock also confirmed, ‘If Parliament gives its assent to this Bill then the Government will implement it.' We urge the Lords to back this Bill.
