I understand the impulse not to let this guy's statements dictate the news cycle but the fact that he can say shit like this and it barely causes a ripple in the media is a key to his ability to maintain power. Constantly pushing the bar of normality downwards, no pressure to take responsibility.

I think, too, that right now concentrating on the threat of war crimes is a distraction. The whole war is a crime. What, if he doesn’t bomb a bridge we’re cool with it? I love rule of law, but not as a means of looking away from awful facts with which we must contend.

Here’s the other side to this. Not only will food prices go up, but farmers will be forced to use other really dangerous fertilizers like wastewater sludge, which contains tons of toxic PFAs. As Senator, I will work to ban the use of wastewater sludge as fertilizer much like we’ve done in Maine.
