THIS! It seems to me that what counts as āpolitical violenceā is already shaped by a white supremacist thought pattern.

My question is, always: what is the difference between political violence and (allegedly) other kinds of violence? Do we count the systematic elimination of peopleās healthcare as political violence? What about the mass hate mail and harassment that is directed toward those of us on the leftā¦

The way local and national news outlets are covering the protests in LA is kinda disgusting. āProtests turned violentā is a really fucked up way of saying that police and the military are inciting violence.

Iām sure Iām typing into the void. But whatās needed at the moment is strategic, tactical, and disciplined resistance. We cannot put our heads in the sand and hope things will get better. They wonāt. This president must be stopped. And we have to do it collectively.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, now more than ever, we need to honour & remember those that came before us who weāve lost to anti-trans hatred & violence. Hereās a list of people just from the US this year alone, though likely incomplete. Their losses will not be in vain! Hate will not win!

Iām thinking about deathscapes. Hugo Ka Canham reminds us that death can be in the air and the land, in the water and in the flesh. I think about this a lot nowāfor we live in a host of deathscapes. Some are riotous, and we lean into the power of that riotousness. Others, like the US, are not.

I guess I should say also: the idea of āgoing back in timeā is not so much an announcement that things are somehow ābetterā now. It is only an acknowledgement that what has long been disguised by liberal niceties and ācivilityā is now showing itself clearly. Weāre in a mask off moment.
