a hot take i have is that the dmg and ph being two different books is at the core of a lot of d&d's pervasive culture problems and severely hamstrings the possibility of it ever designed well. unofrtunately wotc will never change this because they want to be able to sell two $50 books

imo script change is the best safety tool because it encourages you to use it for stuff that isn't safety-related and ime that makes people feel a lot more comfortable / less self-conscious about using it when something serious comes up
