I do sort of agree with Chait that DSA candidates can make lousy candidates who seem to hate the Democratic Party... but that's equally true of the party's moderates who get a free pass for hating its voters. IMO, DSA's success is in part due to leading Democrats' failure to represent their voters.

Instead it's a winner-take-all fight for one party label, as if "Democrats" can be something you take over and make everyone in the coalition conform to it, when they just aren't really one party beneath the surface. It's a multi-party reality straining against a forced two-party system.
