Birds, NUFC, Severnside patcher, some occasional ICU doctoring
A brief patch foray today with
@matthall95.bsky.social
and
@oscardewhurst.bsky.social
produced a few birds - glossy ibis still around briefly, 2+ curlew sand, 2 golden plover, grey plover, 2 wheatear, vismigging crossbills and increasing numbers of wildfowl. Missed the spotshank

My 5 year old made this a few months ago telling me we were going to win a trophy this season. Yesterday he got to go to school proud as punch with his toon top under his uniform and his teacher just let him wear it all day. Thank you Eddie and the lads, words can’t express what Sunday meant

Newcastle United strongly condemns the appalling racist abuse received by Joe Willock on Instagram on Saturday evening. There is no room for racism anywhere. Joe has been given the club's full support and we will continue to do all we can to ensure the welfare of our players, staff and supporters.

Well deserved from Bournemouth. We were outplayed. We looked a bit leggy but can’t whinge too much given their injury problems. Not much to do other than draw a line under it and get a response next week

Was looking at it last night, though within this season is a better comp imho. One of the reasons I think Howe is more comfortable with Tonali at 6 rather than previously is: - time at
#nufc
& in the EPL - match fitness/sharpness rebuilt after a year out - improved buildup options 1/

“Freedom within a structure is always the optimum for me. You can give players too much freedom and it becomes a mess,” said Eddie Howe after the 4-0 victory against Ipswich Town. Piece on how the freedom of Newcastle's No 6 is helping their attack this season.

So until yesterday results have obviously not where we want them to be, but the underlying numbers for
#nufc
are still moving in the right direction. The attack is improving while the defence is generally not giving up great chances.
