Enough with Trump canceling the midterm elections. He can't. Congressional elections are conducted by the states, not the federal government. He has other ways to try to disrupt them, but he can't unilaterally cancel them.

If the House Republicans had any guts, they'd hold an emergency impeachment vote on Trump today. If the Senate Republicans had any guts, they'd convict Trump of violating the Constitution tomorrow. The Constitution means nothing it if it can be ignored with impunity.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts. Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

This war and extra-judicial kidnapping is patently illegal and unconstitutional. Political leaders on both sides must condemn it. It’s not about whether Maduro is a tyrant but whether the US is still governed by laws and the Constitution. As if this morning, we are clearly not.

Just woke up even angrier. Impeach, convict, remove. Draft articles now. Either we have a representative government or we don’t. Do not shut up about this until there’s a vote.
