One of the challenges in designing a birding game is "checklist management". Your eyes glaze over even reading that. But since field surveys are a key resource in the gameplay loop, I need an intuitive way to allow managing them without it feeling like toil.

Adobe making a great example that using proprietary software anywhere in your development is a massive liability, even if you fork over buckets of money. Why should people invest time and money learning your software if you just do this with no recourse.
