I had a good chat with a friend yesterday about why I have been "planting" logs around my property so they are standing up. This is my latest. I do this is for wildlife habitat. Birds use them, but also, we get lots of native pollinators using them. Basically a natural mason bee house. 🌱 🌰

Yes, Starfleet Academy is has elements of teen drama shows. But so far it’s only as much teen drama as it needs to be. If anything, the teen drama is just a trojan horse for the Star Trek.

I redid one of the log jams in our wetlands. I built the old one last year when I only had a small amount of wood. The new one is much bigger and spans the channel better. Plus it has a lot more wood stacked up which holds the lower parts down better. Plus it provides better habitat. 🌱 🌰

Got our raised garden beds all cleaned up and ready for planting. Added compost, worm castings and some charcoal from our fire pit that I had been saving to use as biochar. Then topped it all off with old composted chicken bedding and old straw for mulch. 🌱

My wife and I plan for our next car to be an EV. In the meantime we are just keeping our Prius going. I hope the USA can start doing better with more charging stations. But unfortunately we seem to be going in the opposite direction. The nearest charging station for us is being removed...
