Working/thinking about machine learning (ML) education for earth science (broadly, hydro, rocks, atmo, met, climate). What are the biggest roadblocks? What do students get mixed up on? It’s never been easier to start, but that activation energy is still tough.

This project at Newberry is a long time coming. A lot of DOE money has been spent on site. Hot rocks for sure!

Siphon v0.10.0 has been released, with a lot of fixes to work with current versions of things like xarray, numpy, and protobuf, and support for Python 3.10-3.13.
