"We have literally been talking about this for decades," says Carl, proudly. "That's why some many people have come down to be a part of it. Some of my friends were glad it happened today, so they could quit hearing about it!"

Just received this statement from Lisa Cook: "President Trump purported to fire me 'for cause' when no cause exists under the law, and he has no authority to do so. I will not resign. I will continue to carry out my duties to help the American economy as I have been doing since 2022."

Incredible. Roland Reisley is 101 years old, the last original client of Frank Lloyd Wright. He still lives in the 3,200 square foot home that Wright built for him in 1952. The price? $40,000. Or a little less than half a million in today's money.

We use data leaked from the Isle of Man to understand how well international agreements meant to provide tax authorities with info on foreign accounts actually work We find that tax authorities probably receive a lot less than they would desire 🧵👇

The discourse around tariffs has been “things will get more expensive” but I am here to tell you that I am knee deep in reporting on this subject and I strongly suspect that if super high tariffs endure, it will shift to *certain items cease to be available at any price*

We’re in this mess in large part bc the average American is uninformed about fundamentals of civics, history, basic biology, economics, etc, and media and the internet are not meeting the moment. Is anyone organizing teach-ins or similar for the general public, whether irl or online?

There has been a lot of chatter today about Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump, some regarding this moment when White House correspondent Brian Glenn asked if the Ukrainian president plans to wear a suit. I want to address idea in this thread. 🧵
