This is a remarkably important question. The City has known for a few years now that one vendor believes soft tracks are the cause of LRT derailments. What tracks did Ottawa use in the subsequent phase 2 of light rail? Did the City adjust to this possible root cause, or just ignore the concern?

Some Ottawa Councillors treat the Lansdowne financials as is they are the Word of God. Those 40-year projections are really just a best guess, and should be seen as one factor in deciding whether this project makes sense or not.
