Been working on commissions the past couple of days off and on. Still healing but doing what I can.

This is something that always trips me up and I almost always end up having to redraw it which is why helpful tutorials like these are super beneficial! Once you see the backwards layering you can’t unsee it. It clicks eventually I promise, even if you need a refresher each time.

Still dealing with some health stuff. Doing better with the warmer weather, and will be focusing on commissions again tomorrow.

Good afternoon Bsky. Have a WIP painting with boob. Hand anatomy is a bit wonky, but I'll get that thumb figured out eventually. 2026 will probably be the year I study hands properly. I've got one commission on my plate to finish on my plate rn, but opening my waitlist if anyone is interested.

I was looking through dragon paintings I've done, and had a sudden urge to update a piece from last year as a 20 min warmup. 2023 I was getting braver using brighter colors. Going into 2025 I have a feeling I'm going to be focusing more on contrast and depth.. #dragon #fantasy #art #commsopen

Got stuff mostly done yesterday. Putting final touches on holiday things today, now that I've actually slept >>' Really happy with how things are coming. New heater has also arrived, and it's not freeing now... but at least we have it for when things inevitably get cold here in Oklahoma again.

Woke up way later than intended. Trying to get my head on straight, and get some tea, wake up and stuff, so I can get the day going. Fully intending today to be crunch day for holiday commissions. This morning was freezing again, but I have a new heater on the way <3 so yay?

I was going though old pictures, and found this lion ring from...2007? Back when I was going to college, I got a commission to sculpt an engagement/wedding ring for lost wax casting. I did the sculpt, and had a jewelry casting service in Seattle do the casting.

Got another hour of work in today so far. Giving my arm a break before I get this holiday card figured out more. I'm kind of frustrated with FB right now. I keep posting to local groups to find a treadmill, and its like I'm getting ghosted? Not sure if it's admins or algorithm, but it's BS.

Barring any other "interruptions" I'm back to work today once it warms up.

Undiagnosed Dyscalculia stopped me from passing math classes I needed to pursue a psych degree. Pursued the arts. Art college sucked. Health issues sucked. Worked as an art model. Things got unsafe, and I refocused on my own art. Now I pretend to be a functional human while going crazy in the woods.

I'm considering starting a "blog" again. If I did, I would want it to be somewhere that doesn't require "google" sign ins, or anything that could be linked back to me easily. Are there any simple platforms that don't require payment? I used blogger back in the day when I wrote on esoterica.

Heads up if you have things in google docs- Google is using their AI slop to take your docs and spontaneously autogenerating things like kids story books from them to try to impress folks into using their slop. Happened to a friend- I'm just passing it on. Might want to remove files from it.

I did not expect the -phenomenal- response I've had to my last two pieces; especially the petroglyph one. I'm getting increasingly worried about the EBT situation here. We rely on it to eat. I have food allergies and so does my husband, and they aren't things that are easily avoided. Food banks aren't something we can rely on for food, due to serious cross contamination issues.

Dominant wrist is doing much better today :3 seems like keeping it straight when I sleep, taking my vitamins, and anti-inflammatories before bed, is the best medicine. Not back to 100 percent, but improvement is good.

Whoops... I overdid things the other day with my wrists. I've relapsed a bit, and today I'm pretty sore. It might be another few days before I make progress on comic stuff. I did manage to spend a couple hours on messing with 3d stuff. This might be the closest I've gotten to a 3d model of my sona.

More sketches, just for the story. Sometimes I feel like with each iteration I move further away from what drawing a living being even means, turning into an obsessive engineer. I'm somewhat prone to falling into this (silhouette! shape! structure!), but I think I need to rethink my approach... :')
