Focusing on a “better than ABA” framework, like SCERTS, to “teach #autistic kids” is a way to keep autistic kids warehoused. A framework, no matter how nice it is, is dehumanizing. It says all allistic kids can learn together, but the autistic ones are “special” so they have to learn over here.

NYC pays 5 disabled artists to make public art. Which is nice. But this city keeps disabled students away from everyone else - so much that we’re the only city that even has a seperate district just for them - and then when disabled people are adults with a lifetime of segregation we say “nice art!”
