People would lose their minds

I've heard some people want different colored flames for candles. From blue, to green, and even purple! What are your thoughts on this? How would you implement it? Would it be by crafting a unique candle (e.g. a "soul candle") or by lighting existing candles with a new igniter? #Minecraft

On a side note, I think in context with the villager rebalances Jeb's comment is moreso against these experiments getting any significant changes, as opposed to continual iterations that really shake things up. If enchanting or the anvil are not considered the main issues, what else would they do?

Some people are afraid Mojang will try to nerf mending again. I'm concerned that enchanting, one of Minecraft's biggest and worst aged systems, is still not even being considered to gain the same love the oceans, the caves, and the Nether received. We are not the same.

I think this right here does show that the biggest issue with modern minecraft ... is that it hasn't settled into a consistent design philosophy, rather I see the devs design with new philosophies/gameplay in mind, and it just doesn't blend well with the core design. At some point you have to-

-commit to one way or another. I wouldn't mind if Minecraft committed to embracing losing your items and all gear being impermanent, but as of now with all of the modern day enchanting, armor trims, and rare items like tridents... it just doesnt feel good! I don't think there can reasonably

be a middle ground between the idea of gear-impermanence and gear-permanence... It's an identity crisis that I see the game in. I love Minecraft, but I wish you all could maybe stick more to either designing around the 'old core' or completely changing out the old core to follow the newer design.

People are going to complain about Jeb's recent comment about the anvil because "oh no, the villager rebalances must be coming back" or "they won't just remove the too expensive limit, which is the only issue with the enchanting system ever". The wrong reasons, and also don't get my hopes up.

every system related to gear encourages treating them as permanent, even the level cap, since its only effect on the game is forcing combining enchantments in specific orders, it never prevents maxed out gear

enchanting is so tedious and luck based that people stop playing the game when they die and lose their amazing gear, because the idea of going through the enchanting phase of the game is just that depressing. gear cannot feel impermanent like that.

Mending has upended that philosophy for years now. The anvil cap feels like just an excuse to force the continued use of the RNG trash enchantment table. If players are doing so much to use circumventions to the enchanting and repair system, maybe the system should be reworked.

My suspicions seem to be correct. The lack of major features and the many technical changes lead me to believe that this drop is another Buzzy Bees situation. As in, it exists primarily to refine the code and prepare for FUTURE additions rather than adding new things. #Minecraft

I feel the ominous potion mechanic could be used for so many other parts of the game. Drink one near ocean monument and reset the elder guardians. Drink one near a desert pyramid and a wave of husk camels comes riding out. So many ways to enhance old structures.

So what I've realized is that a good potion, if not most Minecraft players asking for better combat don't want the system to just be refined in a similar style to the combat test experiments, but actually want the experience of more restrictive and combat oriented games copied into MC somehow. To be clear, I actually like Minecraft's gameplay loop of gaining experience to gradually but surely develop that set of enchanted gear. However, I do wish the prices were aligned with the actual benefits (solely enchantments), rather than being raised so high for very random things like repairing.

I doubt they will overhaul the baby hoglin this drop, as you can't feed it the golden dandelion currently. A sad time for hoglin fans. But perhaps with enough suggesting, waiting, and pure copium, they might remodel the baby hoglin and allow you to stunt its growth forever in a future drop.

Yeah, the thinking the last few years has been to move towards making most things renewable.

I'm so glad that the Baby Glow Squid in vanilla doesn't have the exact same shape and model (and even animations?) as the Baby Ghast in Dungeons. Always felt kinda lazy to me. Could've made the tentacles and head longer at least. Luckily, the vanilla model is much more distinct from that. #Minecraft

I feel like Minecraft has a weird balance considering how much people they try to cater to, personally I’d want things to be harder but well defined like only getting mending from swamp villages, (along with better repairing) Not everything needs to be easy to farm from the get go

Of these, I think the high priority mobs are foxes, goats, bees, llamas, hoglins, and striders for baby mobs anyway. They're the most iconic mobs of the "modern" era mobs, and the Axolotl remodel makes it clear that even 1.17 mobs can be considered old enough for a refresh!

Making the dragon fight harder would probably make even less players take it on, as well as probably reinforce it as the seeming "end" of the game. Instead, a harder dragon fight can easily be locked behind ominous bottles

A bit too much of the Minecraft community believes the final boss of Minecraft should be the hardest and even more likely of an issue in execution, actually hard. Ironically, one of MC's main principles is that greater challenges should be optional, meaning the dragon might stay on the easier side.

One landmark I always really like is springs, and Hytale appears to spawn them in Zone 2 and Zone 3. Not Zone 4 though, but imagine if you could find bubbling acid pools on the surface and relaxing non-corrosive hot springs in the subterranean jungle. What landmarks would you like to see in Hytale?

The fact that Bluesky is very algorithm light or doesn't even have one at all (depending on which feeds you use) means it's much easier to just encounter a Minecraft hot take and have a discussion, instead of missing it because only the extremely generic hot takes keep getting propped up.
