I agree with this 100%. I also think (and hardly think @jamellebouie.net would disagree) that the Trump administration can and will _push_ the election illegally and unfairly, and it's a great idea for us to fight that with the same strength that we would if the elections themselves were in peril.

I _do_ like LLMs and I use them both on my own time and as a core part of my job. Also, my time with LLMs has shown that @astrokatie.com is 100% correct that "trusted answer machine" is a useless and harmful role for LLM bots, but that "AI" companies push that use mode anyway.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪
