Now this is what I call ambition - a Mersey Railway ticket for carrying carriages, bulls, cattle and much more ... in 1893 the Mersey Railway went from Liverpool Central Low Level by tunnel under the Mersey to Birkenhead Park and Rock Ferry hauled by steam locos. 6d (2.5p) for a dog.

Exchange Station Liverpool was closed in 1977 the station was demolished in 1978 leaving the façade behind which offices were created in 1986 - Mercury Court. These offices were redeveloped in 2013 and new offices created. The name of the building reverted to Exchange Station.
