Preston's cycle infrastructure goes from the (fairly) sublime to the ridiculous. Gorgeous protected lane in the centre to avoid a busy road. Former railway out of town absolutely ruined by many, many tight chicanes, and a load of broken glass on a very uninviting access path.

To be fair, Leigh doesn't have a train station, so it's a bit of a schlep to Wigan or Bank Quay.
