Removing ball/strike information so that players don't get ball/strike "intel" is one of the stupid ideas I've ever heard. The point of ABS is to get the goddamn balls and strikes right, not to have getting accurate umpiring become an idiotic minigame. This is smoothbrain dumbfuckery.

Durbin a good fielder who makes a ton of contact. As someone who personally didn't want the Red Sox to strikeout so much, I like that fit more than, say, Eugenio Suarez who would hit a lot of homers but strikeout a ton and play bad defense.

I enjoyed the Bad Bunny halftime show.

I strongly prefer Caleb Durbin to Eugenio Suarez or Isaac Parades. Solid player in the same make as Ernie Clement. Doesn't make up for the original sins of trading Devers and botching a Bregman extension, but a solid player all the same at a reasonable price.

I could see him ending up on the Red Sox. Good fielder, runs well, makes contact, experience in the AL East. I don't want it particularly but I can see the calculus if they do.

Not sure what is more surprising- that Garcia still wasn't retired or that he's still only 34.

What's the vibe here for the Red Sox offseason so far? Twitter is ready to disembowel Craig, but they are always ready to do that, so it means absolutely nothing. Personally, I think they're going to be competitive but way too much is riding on the young bat taking a step forward. Not comfortable.

I like a lot of the individual players on the 2025 Red Sox. As a team, they've been hot fucking garbage.

Sean Newcomb has been traded to the A's for Cash Considerations. Honestly, the Red Sox getting anything back for him is a positive considering what he was thought of when Spring Training started. He did a good job in the role he was given.

Red Sox 2025 season hasn't been without its positives. In no particular order, here are my five most pleasant surprises. -Narvaez's bat -Crochet living up to the hype. -Chapman pitching like an All-Star. -Dobbins' rise. -Just how much better a hitter DH Raffy is than 3B Raffy.

It's objectively very funny that despite his incredibly slow start, Triston Casas has still hit two more dingers than Vladdy Jr.

Short sample size but some remarkably bad luck for Zack Kelly so far on the season- 6.30 ERA to a 2.72 FIP and a 3.47 xERA per Fangraphs. Just 10 IP. He's throwing plenty of strikes (2 BB/11 K) which was more his problem last year. Stuff looks nasty as ever. It'll balance out.

Not sure if this is a popular or unpopular or lukewarm take but I don't really think coaches have much of an influence in shorter stretches and you have to wait a few months and look at the numbers to really evaluate their success.
