We are excited to share our new paper in Nucleic Acids Research. Nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) is a surveillance pathway that detects and degrades faulty mRNAs. By probing the SMG1–SMG8–SMG9 complex, we show that NMD tolerates loss of key regulatory components better than expected.
