In a sane country with competent leadership, the 50 highest-ranking Democrats would call a press conference to denounce what just happened as a threat to the republic and demand Trump's immediate impeachment and removal from office. I don't know he could make his intentions more clear.

He's the literal Democratic Party nominee. He is on the ballot on the Democratic Party's line. He earned his place there fair and square. And a party that refuses to endorse its own nominees is a party of feckless fools that is going to keep losing elections out of sheer asshattery.

I'm going to be kind and actually give an actual answer: "tankie" doesn't come from being "in the tank" for the USSR but from supporting literal USSR/Warsaw tanks rolling into Eastern Europe to quell uprisings in Hungary and Czechoslovakia.

Only 1 person in the whole study went from identifying as trans to not identifying as trans. The 1/5 number came from youth going between the binary and non-binary spectrum. This headline and post are misleading on purpose to fit the economist's editorial bent on the political issue.

Hakeem Jeffries voted for Charlie Kirk Day but still isn’t sure if he’ll endorse Zohran Mamdani. This is why the approval rating of the Democratic Party is lower than Trump’s or the GOP.

unless a good number of incumbent dems lose their primaries a 40 seat gain would cause such a perverse incentive structure: "actually if you just focus group slop a non-resistance to a fascist takeover that gives you a record low approval rating you can take the house by merely existing"

I don't think pointing out the fascists' 'hypocrisy' is a good use of time. It's not hypocrisy, it's hierarchy. They actually do believe that they have the right and obligation to dominate you because they are superior to you. They are using their power not being hypocritical.

What the Debate Me bros have done is found a way to filibuster the self-evident humanity of a person or group by making it an endless topic of debate. As Toni said: "None of this is necessary. There will always be one more thing." It's not my job to prove my equality to those who think me inferior

kinda assumes Democrats actually want to appeal to minority groups. Largely they don't. They pay millions of dollars to justify appealing to voters they would rather represent.

Democrats have this really weird tendency to think wonky technical tax patches in huge systems are what people want in the year of our Lord 2025, when what people ACTUALLY want is something on the scale of The New Deal stapled to Second Reconstruction with Nuremberg 2.0 as a dessert.

The trans partner of Tyler Robinson had no knowledge about it and was told to delete messages but didn't and instead turned them immediately over to the police and cooperated. Yet, the right is demonizing her and blame everything on trans people despite the trans person here doing the right thing.

insofar as you can lump “dem leadership” into a single group, i think a lot of dems, mostly in the senate, are not just underestimating the fury of the base, but they’re also underestimating the likelihood that failing to harness that fury means *someone* will, and they may not like the results
