A sculpture by Fenwick Lawson in St Mary the Virgin on Holy Island. The monks are carrying the coffin of St Cuthbert as they leave the island in 875. The sculpture is made of elm and is called ‘The Journey’. Stunning.

50 Years of COAM – 1980 St. Albans Abbey Barn, also known as St. Julians, arrived at COAM. Dismantled in 1962, it spent many years in storage before finding a home with us. This medieval barn was built between 1390 and 1400. Find out more

well almost, just not the standing bit. The St Levan stone in the graveyard of St Levan Church, Cornwall is said to date from pre Christian times, associated with fertility rites and that St Levan split it in two with his staff.
