The height of my remote work experience is being in two meetings concurrently 🤣 One in my ear, and one on my laptop. It's been interesting.

Helping raise my nephew has taught me that there's no such thing as a lesson that makes sense only in the future. If it doesn't make sense now, then you aren't teaching it right. "You'll understand when you're older" no longer holds much weight with me.

I'm minding my business trying to work and my son, who's on vacation, pauses his colouring to ask me the deeply philosophical question: "Are zombies alive or dead?"

I've become the guy that spends the day working, and goes on TikTok in his free time. And then sends links to relatable TikToks to his friends on WhatsApp. This is what the modern day uncle looks and feels like, I can tell.

Used to balance my work energy by taking intermittent power naps. Max 20 minutes. Spread across the day. These days it's a dangerous affair. I take a 20 minute nap, and I'm waking up three hours later groggy af. My energy is very low.

One thing I really liked about Twitter was their policy of fighting government subpoenas for account information. Twitter had a practice of notifying account holders when they received a request for account info, which gave us time to find a lawyer to fight the request.

It must be so sad for former Twitter employees to see what the platform has become. Before Musk, Twitter had some of the best law, policy, and trust & safety people. Incredibly smart people thinking deeply about free speech and fighting for users’ rights. And now, it’s all gone.
