Looking for opinions on a riichi WWYD that came up in a live game which I'm still really unsure about. If it helps I think I was in first with about 35000-40000 points in South 3, with everyone else pretty even.

At our local mahjong place, they mostly play HK style, and whenever someone wins, I hear them say "Mahjong!" and everyone else at the table starts clapping. I think that's behavior we need to normalize... Whenever I say the word "mahjong", people nearby should cheer and clap and get really happy.

I want to live in a world where the incredibly rich are too scared to say stuff like this out loud, for fear of being torn apart by an angry mob with torches and pitchforks.

Entered a riichi team tournament with a bunch of friends a little while ago, and our team ended up getting 3rd place out of 48! I ended with a score of -2000 over 8 hanchans. So not awful? But it WAS a Saki-themed tournament, so it would have been better if I could have ended at a perfect zero.
