I spent three days debugging a problem with the targeting system and it was just a function with a lowercase "e" in it that was supposed to be uppercase. This is why I can't do text-based programming.

Line of vision testing is going pretty well. A good start to making a lock-on attack function. Right now it finds the closest enemy to the reticle, checks if it's in range, if it's on screen, and if it's not blocked by anything. Debug seems happiest when line of sight is blocked.

Downside of using a community fork of an outdated engine for a platform that nobody uses is that there's like five people using it. The upside is that all five of us are so autistic that if you ask a question about it, you're gonna get an answer so exhaustive that you feel guilty for asking

There are so many limitations on what will actually work in HTML5/WebGL2 builds of UE4 projects, it's almost enough to make me give up on it. But I've also got that obstinate dipshit impulse to keep going, because I'll prove it can be done and I'll probably be the first one stupid enough to succeed.

Not close to done with my project, but I've been extremely miserly with what I add to it art-wise, compressing what I can and using shaders for much of the heavy lifting. I'm currently making test builds that are under 45mb. That's with Unreal Engine 4. You CAN optimize.

Speaking of post processing, on the off chance anyone's got experience making HTML5 packages in Unreal Engine 4, I'm stumped on how to make anything compatible. I get the "fuck your effects" brick wall of shame every time I test it, no matter what I tweak. Haaaaalp
