If you haven't watched @jason-williams.co.uk talk on Temporal, I highly recommend it. Not only is it a great history of Temporal, which should make dates in JS *much* better, but it serves as a great primer on TC39, the committee that advances JS. Excellent work 👌

Well I finally managed to move to @eurosky.social as well. It was absolutely incredibly painless. It's pretty much the easiest migration I have experienced in 30+ years in tech. Totally amazed!

When did @tc39.es advance Temporal to Stage 4? 2026-03-11T11:16:42-04:00[America/New_York][u-ca=iso8601] That string format is defined in RFC 9557 which was one of the prerequisite steps along the way in the standardization process.

Yesterday was a big day for JavaScript 🎈 @tc39.es celebrated Temporal achieving Stage 4 in the traditional way - with a cake!

This thread was the perfect way to add five years of articles about the development of JavaScript standards to my Leaflet - although I need to do another one to cover the pieces I've written about Module Harmony where I resisted mentioning Temporal!

ECMAScript Euphoria! 🎉 We don't always post when a single proposal advances, but when we do, it's Temporal -> Stage 4. Just days shy of 9 years from Stage 1, a herculean effort on the part of many champions, delegates, invited experts, and contributors, past and present. Thank you all! 🙌
