Another box of wargames Atlantic Irish assembled. looked at the Irish I have and thought it wouldn’t take much to expand it from pillage to Hail Caesar well it turns out that I need a lot more! Never mind, it’s always good to have at least 3 projects on the go at once!

A little reading on the Persians in preparation for painting the first of them next week! I’ve got a grand total of 40 to paint so far but suspect I’ll need a lot more…..

Something a little different, painted up a standard for my WW2 Hungarians for bolt action. As with the rest of them I used wargames Atlantic ww1 Germans as proxies. My Soviets have a banner so thought I’d do one for these as well!!!

A handful of dark age Irish with some very bent banner poles!! They were holding spears but I thought I’d make them into banner poles instead. These will end up being added to my existing dark age Irish that I can then use to put an Irish force together for hail Caesar or similar

Something for old school fans – I’ve nearly completed another regiment of 30mm Spencer Smiths for my Borgenmark imagi-nation. My first major painting session since hip surgery has been very therapeutic.

15mm Team Yankee game at the club last night. My Soviet T80’s & T55’s with infantry in BMPs took on the West Germans. Managed a narrow win after my T80’s failed two moral checks 🤦🏻‍♂️

Good that Friday and this week is over. Less good that I'm working on Sunday... Bit tired so just a bit of gentle flaggery for the recently completed 6mm chaps... #wargaming

Another shitty day but at least WFH I didn't have to be in the same room as the twats... Varnish and basing done on the next three units of the 6mm refurb. So that's four units done this week. Two French. Two Swiss. Just 8 bloody fiddly flags to paint now... But tomorrow is Friday... #wargaming

A rather stressy day at work. Again. Fed up with it... Working from home tomorrow. Need a break from the twattery... An hour of hobby and Battlestar Galactica... Almost done on the current 6mm. A few bits to tidy up and highlight then varnish and base. #wargaming

Finished painting the wargames Atlantic Sharpe figures tonight. Now they’re done I’m quite happy with them! Version with the rifle on his shoulder is the larger of the two.

Well. I've had better Mondays. Setting the tone for the rest of the week I suspect... Managed a bit of the highlights on the 6mm but gave up after a while as tired and kept missing bits... #wargaming

Back to the grind tomorrow. Another 'interesting' week beckons... Basing almost done on the completed unit. And the extra command blocked in on the next three units and the Strong Tone slapped over. The highlights next should bring them together... Then the flags.... #wargaming

Tonight’s offering from me, finished the last of the ECW dragoons. Also took a picture of the whole regiment together (still pains me calling 12 Cavalry a regiment!) Also painted a few dogs for my pillage Irish warband as well - ok, they’re dry brushed but it still counts 🤣

Two more units done on the 6mm Refurb. Bloody flags are a faff... One Swiss and one French. And a gun and crew. The next units will need lots of extra command painting so needs a bit of planning. And pics of the units done so far. Maybe a cavalry interlude next for a bit of variety. #wargaming

Visit to my local hobby shop this morning, picked up a few paints and basing tufts.

Bit knackered today after bad night. Nice long dog walk. Coffee and cake. Then Virtual Wargames Club where I did a correct flag for the 6mm French unit and fitted it. It gets my seal of approval... #wargaming

Pike & Shotte at the club last night. Outnumbered 3-2 the royalists aggressively attacked, racking up a win through dash, daring and bad enemy dice rolls !!! Prince Rupert’s cavalry charging heroically down the flank to clear out two regiments of enemy cavalry was a highlight!

Long day. Up at 5. Work shit. I did manage my fourth trip to the gym this week. And am now regretting it... Managed to get the flags done for the 6mm. I might need to do a different French one as the one I chose is wrong for the painted unit. Anyway, one Swiss one and one French one. #wargaming

Busy evenings painting yesterday. Managed to finish the EVW dragoons and paint 12x 15mm British Napoleonic’s. All to a tabletop standard which helps with the speed!!
