A big problem we have in local journalism now is the lack of entrepreneurial spirit at its best. It can build a great organizational spirit to start small, prove yourself and grow. The “venture philanthropy” of amassing millions and arrogantly/ competitively blowing through it won’t save journalism

Sad to see this. I’ve hearing too much talk by wealthier publications or their cheerleaders about desire for “mergers and acquisitions.” That is not the way healthy journo ecosystems grow. Support your stellar smaller, truly local newsrooms however you can. Decks are constantly stacked against us.
