To be honest, the president shouldn't have a pardon power to begin with, as it breeds corruption. But that - like so many other problematic issues in modern America (gun violence! the electoral college! supreme court lifetime appointments!) - requires amending the Constitution.

I love this idea that Biden pardoning Hunter will somehow ‘justify’ or ‘excuse’ Trump pardoning the Jan 6th prisoners, ignoring the fact that: 1. Trump had promised to pardon them long before Biden did this. 2. There is nothing comparable between Hunter’s crimes & their crimes.
