Ban cars
Hot take: Convert the Circ into a wide boulevard with centre bus lanes for BRT. This would free up a good chunk of land for development, save NS taxpayers a very good chunk of money, and make Halifax an actual 15-minute city if a full-scale BRT is built.

Normal people: this is terrible Me: cars driving the wrong way on a controlled access highway proves that even engineering isn't a silver bullet for road safety and the only way to make roads safer is to try and reduce the number of people driving weapons/heavy machinery around the city.

Waterloo Region proved that small metro areas in Canada can build rail transit, if it's designed prudently and governed smartly. What would be even better, though, is seeing someone unseat us as the reigning champ of small urban regions in Canada building light rail.

I dislike the framing of winter as an โexcuseโ, as if you can wish it away. I see it as an additional *challenge* that is *surmountable*. Winter cities need to (1) design bike infrastructure for snow, (2) care about plowing, and (3) learn how to do a good job of plowing/maintaining the bike lanes.

Driving takes 15 minutes to travel from North End to downtown. Transit takes 30 minutes. There's something wrong here, right? Especially if your city wants to put at least 23% of its population relying on transit.

I was driving on Bayer's Rd and this granny almost side swiped my car because she couldn't drive within the lane. She didn't seem drunk, just that she's too old to drive. Senior drivers should be tested every single year.

I think churches with revenue of more than $1,000,000 a year should pay a 10% tax, and churches with more than $5,000,000 in annual revenue should pay a 20% tax. You can think Iโm wrong about that, but Iโm not.
