Bikeway upgrades on Queens Park Crescent East are expected to resume in March and end in Fall 2026. Bikeway construction on University Avenue from College Street to 120 m north of Queen Street West will begin in August and end in Spring 2027. toronto.ca/university

Several multi-use trails were either added or upgraded within the existing cycling network in 2025. This includes trails in Biidaasige Park, the East Don Trail from Bermondsey Road to the Cycling Pedestrian Overpass Bridge, and Finch Corridor Trail from Birchmount Road to Pharmacy Avenue.

As part of the City's commitment to safety and accessibility under the Vision Zero Road Safety Plan, sidewalks were constructed on several streets in 2025, including Parlette Street, Fishleigh Drive and Wilby Crescent. toronto.ca/sidewalks

A two-way cycle track and upgraded sidewalk were added to the west side of Knox Avenue as part of road reconstruction. This bikeway connects the existing contra-flow bicycle lane on Eastern Avenue to the Lake Shore Boulevard East multi-use trail. toronto.ca/knox

In 2025, changes on The Esplanade included the conversion to one-way westbound travel for motor vehicles between Scott Street and Church Street, and the extension of the two-way cycle tracks from Scott Street to Market Street using quick-build materials. toronto.ca/esplanademill

Originally installed as bike lanes in 1997, existing cycle tracks on Harbord Street and Hoskin Avenue were upgraded to include permanent separation, green infrastructure planters, refreshed pavement markings, improved pedestrian crossings, and bicycle signals in 2025. toronto.ca/harbordhoskin

Road reconstruction on Sentinel Road provided the opportunity to upgrade bike lanes to raised cycle tracks, widen sidewalks, and add raised crosswalks, curb extensions and integrated bike/bus stops. Lane widths were also narrowed, which deters motorists from speeding. toronto.ca/sentinel

The Wallace-Emerson and Silverthorn Cycling Connections projects featured on-street bikeways, intersection improvements, and measures to reduce motor vehicle speeds and/or volumes, which creates a safer and more comfortable experience for people cycling and pedestrians.

Sidewalks were recently installed on Parlette Avenue and Ravine Park Crescent, just east of Port Union Road. These 1.8 m wide sidewalks improve safety and accessibility for people walking in the community and provide a missing link with the existing sidewalk network.

Until December 2026, the existing sidewalk, bike lane, and eastbound lane on the south side of Dupont Street will be closed for work related to Metrolinx's Davenport Diamond Greenway project. All road users should travel single file through the work zone.
