I often wonder how people can follow and / or be complicit in the face of cruelty.
@suzannezeedyk.bsky.social
breaks it down for us in this fascinating thread. "He needed less than 30 seconds to turn young men & women into collaborators - to make them complicit in his humiliation...& meanness."

I had a call with folks in Aberdeen today. One of the spontaneous moments was when Karen said, excitedly: "Our next bookgroup is reading this one by Sarah Lathan." I snapped a photo & said I would be glad to share widely their enthusiasm for Sarah's insights on relational practice.

Staff in Fife have done the most remarkable things with the information gained in their
#DaringVentures
Course during 2024 & 2025. Today is the last Cafe, where we get more insights into how they have applied it. I can't wait!

café was a busy one. "What if we got rid of the blame & got curious about the needs of the children, teachers, & parents?" Imagine a world where we got rid of blame? This is what we are working towards in Fife.

I've been doing HeartMath every day for 100 days, here is what I have noticed: * Improved memory and focus * Improved emotional resilience * Increase in ability to regulate during moments of stress * Improved relationships * Feeling of being at ease in my own body

I tried out the HeartMath boardgame "Wild Ride to the Heart" today with an older pupil, then a younger pupil. It was enjoyed by both. A fun way to open up discussions about emotions

We celebrated the official opening of our Kit Bag themed room. There has been a lot of hard work from our talented PSA, Mrs Lang who drew and painted each animal by hand. A beautiful space for our children.

It was a beautiful mindfulness session this evening. Today, we looked at journaling and setting intentions. What's seeds do we want to grow, and how can we create the right conditions. Thank you for your wisdom

Play is therapeutic, it's relational, regulatory, involves communication and cooperation, and boosts emotional wellbeing. It's a fundamental part of childhood. It was so beautiful to hear the interactions between these two pupils.

The impact of the
#DaringVentures
Course in Fife has been most remarkable. The creativity of attendees in rippling this information out to others and their willingness to weave it into their own lives. I find the stories emerging to be remarkable.

We have repurposed a dull room to create a functional nurture space for exploring Kit Bag. Designed and painted by the hand of a very talented PSA (Mrs Lang). We can't wait to get children timetabled into this room and make use of this beautiful room.

We talked about this story at yesterdy's
#DaringVentures
session in Fife. We reflected on how it captures the dynamics we were studying - Rupture&Repair, Emotional Boundaries, Containment. We predicted the Bishop would not apologise.

"Once upon a time, Fife exported belts. Now it exports nurture practice." A statement I made today in a

Here is the dance I showed. Note how the two parties each keep their frame. They support each other. It keeps the right amount of distance between them, so that they can move with ease & grace together. Emotional boundaries are the same.

"If your boundaries are too rigid, you're not responsive to others. If your boundaries are too loose, you're not responsive to yourself."
@suzannezeedyk.bsky.social
used the analogy of dancing (specifically Kate Silverton dancing on Strictly ) to talk about emotional boundaries.

in 2020, we truly had no idea what the story had the potential to lead to. This feels astounding for our team to look at the table of resources now available to children in Fife.

See all those symbols, draped across her body? They signal 'belonging' to the brain. Belonging makes a person feel braver, more self-assured, more confident. It moves you away from doubt. Doubt is an uncomfortable feeling. This photo is
