Want to see a quick demo of the technology that might replace citations in scientific papers? Goodbye citations, hello embeds. I was just hoping for links in scientific papers, but this is even better!

This is obviously how scientific articles should be, and if we had an open ecosystem designed for users rather than profit, we would have had this years ago. Time to dump commercial publishers and their paywalls.

Still science in 2024: "Our figure 2 shows this result clearly. Please scroll down 30 PAGES to see it..." PS with @curvenote.com journals, inline figures can go full-width, and any reference to a figure shows it in a hover popup.

We've completed a 3-year field study on scientific poster design. But poster science doesn't really fit into an established journal. This is why I started my own journal with @Curvenote.com. Niche research, published for impact, with public peer review.

Hey, I recognize that manuscript! But seriously, Curvenote and @agu.org Publishing are doing awesome work to push how we publish science into the future through fully interactive and executable manuscripts. A paradigm shift for how we communicate research to our colleagues? Time will tell!

Love seeing @curvenote.com featured for our work integrating Research Organization Registry id's (ROR). Scientific metadata initiatives like ROR, ORCiD, DOI, etc. sound dry but they're EVERYTHING for making science easier to search. @researchorgs.bsky.social

So many attention to details in the SciPy Proceedings (@scipyconf.bsky.social), including showing hover-previews of GitHub pull requests. Probably not too many journal articles that do that .. ! proceedings.scipy.org/articles/ger...

Rich APIs and structured data enable authoring tools to be able to show the value of networked science **as you’re working**. You see a ROR, you copy it, and it turns into the name of the organization with all of the information directly available in a hover reference.
