I am so proud of Namjoon and his desire to build bridges between different art. Old vs New, Traditional vs Modern, East vs West no matter what at the end of the day, we are all humans with feelings and those feelings are expressed through art. And art with intention is always important💜

It is just fucking astounding. Namjoon is not just showing Korean art, he is putting it /on par/ with, in /conversation/ with, revered Western artists. He’s saying, ‘This art is as good and as real and as deserving.’ And that breaks walls, makes bridges and forces people to question bias.

Something I love about art is the role it plays in rebellion and connection. Politicians everywhere are trying to shrink worlds…and here is a Korean man pulling off a landmark exhibition in which Korean artists are displayed with a major Western collection in a country that is silencing “others”

An observation about the outfit that you can see in this video. The blazer isn't just oversized. It flares out quite a bit, especially for a men's garment, and has some volume in the lower back. I think it echoes the hip pannier silhouettes in the women's collection that just walked the runway.
