This year's city budget is the largest ever, but it still doesn't include any funding for School Streets - safe, open space for students outside schools. We have the largest school system in the country, but only 71 schools currently have School Streets - and $ is a major hurdle!

Everyone using the corridor during these hours is enjoying faster, more peaceful commutes! This shouldn't be a rare perk everyday New Yorkers get a few times during the World Cup – it should be the norm ALL YEAR ROUND. A busway on 42nd Street makes so much sense.

Just another example of why we need automated curb enforcement. These trucks shouldn’t be double parked, but their dedicated space is also being taken up illegally. With automated enforcement, we’ll be able to *enforce* the laws on our streets.

🚲 We were out on West 72nd Street asking Citi Bike riders what businesses they bike to, and we learned that biking is not only practical (people ride pretty much everywhere), but that everyone we spoke with was also eager for the improvements on West 72nd Street. 💚 🧡

What’s so exciting about the World Cup is that we are getting a glimpse of what’s possible for our streets! For example, we could also do this any time there’s a Gridlock Alert day… Let’s keep what works and make it permanent!
