I’ve had some kind of illness since last Friday. It feels like it’s gotten worse but it hasn’t been horrible… BUT my RA gets super bad when I’m sick. I literally could not get out of bed this morning without assistance. I can’t bend down to feed Henry or my cats. Can’t get up out of a chair. I hurt!

Got my hand caught in a closing door today. Looks worse than it feels. It’s just a tiny bit tender.

So thankful the new school year is in full swing, but I’m missing the no alarm clock summer. I struggle to get back into my “early to bed early to rise” routine.

Sooooo I have an MRI scheduled tomorrow for my knee. Fingers crossed it isn’t anything serious and I’ll just need this brace for a bit.

I spent a while in the storm cellar last night with my dog, sister, parents, bro in law, and niece and nephews. Getting out my foot caught on the lip of it and I went down HARD!

My favorite guy is not a hug fan of car rides but he’s being a good sport about this 3 hour drive we’ve been passengers in.

I say this all the time to my students. I decided I needed it on a shirt!

Totally understand why people have attempted to “cancel” Lizzo but I just can’t quit her. I love her music so freakin much!!!

It’s hard to believe that my Henry has been in my life for almost 14 years. Sure he looks like an old man, but he spends hours chasing his besties (cats) around the house. Love him.

Part of me asks myself why I ever put myself through watching The Handmaid’s Tale. The other part of me can’t wait to see how it ends.

I’m not going to lie and say that teaching is always such a joy and I love it every single day! BUT there are moments when everything is going right…. Those days keep me going even when I am struggling. It isn’t always joyful, but the joyful days are amazing.

The past couple of days I’ve had an RA flare from hell. I can’t say I’m surprised with the way the weather is flip flopping. I just know it hurts and I’m basically unable to do anything.

I went to school to get some work accomplished on Sunday. I stepped into a tiled room and my feet slipped on water and I fell completely on my ass/back. I figured out today that it was wet due to a leaky roof. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I am okay. Very sore, but not super painful if that makes sense.

I had forgotten how much I used to love Madonna. I’ve been listening to her constantly for about 3 weeks.

My little guy’s allergies are really bad tonight. His eyes are all watery and puffy looking. He rubs them. I have him medicine. Hope he feels better soon.

Henry absolutely loves afternoons like today. Perfect weather. He can’t resist rolling all around in the dead grass. It’s his number one favorite.

Back to work after Spring Break and we hit the ground running. No such thing as a slow day in 1st grade! I could use a nap.

I need to get up and get a cup of coffee. I’m so freakin lazy and I do not care.

Guys we spent 5 hours at the zoo today. Then I drove the hour and a half home. Fed all the cats and dogs. Made food for myself. And I am crashed out in my recliner now. If the soreness is any indication this body may fail me tomorrow. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s cool I have no other plans for Saturday.

Every single time I come across this picture I get emotional because it’s so so so huge and also because it is a little bit creepy. I love whales.

4 yo nephew was joking around with my mom (his Gaga) and he said, “cut it out, shithead” and I have not stopped laughing since.

We are planning on going to the zoo on Friday to start the oldest nephew’s bday celebration. He is 11. He has tickets to the OU baseball game on Saturday too. I hope the wind calms down by then.

Niece (8) and nephew (4) are in town. They wanted to have a movie night with a “popcorn party.” I came through with the popcorn and we watched Space Jam (1996). And by that I mean they ate a little popcorn and then I watched the movie alone bc they both fell asleep almost immediately. 😂 Love them

I am limited in the ways I can handle physical activity due to RA and currently pleurisy. Both of these things are causing pain. You know what though? I never learn my lesson. I always do too much. Then I get annoyed with myself.

Anyone watching Adolescence? It’s pretty damn good.

I have most definitely not stuck with my NY resolution which was to read for 30 mins before I go to sleep at night. I’ve been so sleepy and/or anxious. I’m still gonna try though.
