Just read the response from Costco to shareholders requesting it back down from DEI. It was glorious. So true. Direct instruction has its place, especially for teaching introductory information about a topic, but research has also shown that students need different methods for learning critical thinking skills. #aplitchat

SO hard, but I have been given the time (I teach 2 classes and for the rest of the day, I support teachers) to find out what the teachers need and how to get it for them. It's extremely rewarding and it's given me a perspective to see systemic solutions I'd never imagined before. #aplitchat

Yes, according to the research, DI can be effective, but once again, the author oversimplifies and uses his point as a bludgeon to discount any other method of teaching and learning, many of which are also shown to be effective, and which he doesn't actually seem to fully understand. #aplitchat
