If you had trouble navigating the flamechart in the chrome #devtools #performance panel, try setting "Flamechart navigation" to "modern". With "modern", scroll actually scrolls, shift-scroll scrolls left/right and cmd+scroll zooms in/out. I prefer this setting, especially without a trackpad.
