I've been assembling and prepping half a dozen SPOILERS tonight. Thanks to my dexterity and skill with a scalpel, they have all been anointed with my own blood. And so have the desk, my coffee cup, my new magnifying lenses, the handle of the scalpel, and my trousers.

Good news! I have now reached the "Aaagh! It looks terrible! This is hopeless! Why did I ever think this was a good idea?" stage of painting the miniature I'm working on now. I'm planning to move on to the grudgingly supposing it might work out okay stage over the next few days.

I just placed an order with Bad Squiddo. Maybe I'm psychic. Whether I am or not, I know I won't be disappointed.

I recently bought some stuff from Warbases. As ever, it was good and it arrived soon. They're good folk and they have made my office smell of freshly lasered MDF.

This week I have been painting air elementals for RuneQuest. The medium one's from Diehard Miniatures, the large one's from Reaper. I tried to put an extra bit of grey in the fist of Mr Punchy there, so it would like he was going to hit you like thunder.

I've taken up a little bit of mini sculpting for fun and I'm enjoying it so far.

To give you an idea of how deranged the UK has become about gender stuff, here's Enid Blyton - the absolute avatar of classic English conservatism and a huge fan of racist "gollywogs" - casually describing a gender non-conforming kid in the 1940s and having their friends be totally cool with it.

I ran RuneQuest last night. I was reviewing my notes in my lunch break today and trying to decipher things that I scribbled down. You know, I reckon I would have been a good doctor.

Unicorn blood can make its' drinker immortal. The main issue is *getting* that blood without falling prey to these carniverous, fleet-footed, super-intelligent horned predators...

Dryad: "Hi. My husband, Big Evil Tree, and I saw you from across the ruined temple and we dig your vibe. Can we consume your soul, er, I mean buy you a drink?" We fought these in our RuneQuest game. It wasn't fun for our PCs.

An undead animated tree for RuneQuest. It goes with the dryad I posted just now. The PCs in our game fought something like this. It was horrible. We killed it with fire. And axes. You can tell it's a GW model. Every time I looked at the base I found another skull I hadn't previously noticed.

A dryad for RuneQuest. She's an undead, evil dryad. So I painted her with the leaves that decorate her and the branch she's emerging from autumnal and dead. And made her pale grey/green rather than a healthy green. People will still be into that, though, won't they?

Some more painting for RuneQuest. This time another goatkin from @fenrisgames.com. Personally, I wouldn't go into battle just wearing a posing pouch. But I won't judge Mister Conkers. The highlights look a bit starker here than in real life. The phone camera has really heightened them.

I’ve prepped some more minis. A Demi-Sphinx, a hulking vampire and the King of Monkey Ruins. Sphinx and the harpy wings are from @fenrisgames.com the vampire is Barbaric Splendour and the king is Lance & Laser. The king will also have a turtleshell shield. 1/2 way through some creepy vampire kids
