Today would have been my Mum's birthday. My brother and I honoured her, as we do, by having a cup of tea together and also making her one and setting it aside for her. It had to be in a proper cup and saucer. She didn't like drinking tea from a mug. It's been 32 years. We still do that every year.

Back from an epic trip to That London for a work do. We ended up in a beer garden with a Very Big Rat running around it. Including under our table a few times. You know they say if you see 1 rat there are others nearby? I doubt it this time. I reckon this one had eaten them all.

I did this once for a friend of mine who loved sparklers when it was her birthday dinner. Had it stashed in the kitchen and brought it out after dinner with more wine. We put corks in the candelabra to stick the sparklers in. 5 of them, fizzing away in the middle of the table. She loved it!
