One of my favorite games of all time. It combined everything I liked about prince of Persia with just amazingly weird character design and minimalist story, all the while pushing the limits of what the ps2 could do, technically. So good.

I tried to make fingerling potatoes on the grill. Found a recipe online that said to do the foil pouch thing. Oil, salt, pepper, garlic, stick on grill for 20 minutes. 40 minutes later and they're barely cooked but nice and crispy on the bottom. Total failure. Had to throw them out.

In other news, I kinda wish smart phones would bring back the scroll wheel. It doesn't need to be a physical wheel; it can be a trackpad like thing. I just find that scrolling results in me inadvertently selecting text or clicking links too often.

I wish I had a better feed for getting rust articles to read than what's here on Bluesky. Seeing rust conversations is giving me brain rot. Its all toxic interactions and/or really bad takes.

I had an idea after watching a talk on YouTube: a personal url shortener for my blog. So I built out a prototype in rust with a cli for CRUD, backed by SQLite db + actix-web for handling the redirects. But then realized I should just gen/deploy nginx conf instead of running a daemon on the server. 😅

I unironically love XML and all this talk of xslt support being removed from chrome makes me pine for the days when I worked with it regularly. We need to bring it back.

Got a new tattoo yesterday and was given second skin for the first time. This is a game changer. It feels like it's dramatically more healed than I'd expect for only like 18 hours. We'll see how it feels when I take it off tomorrow.
