Tough run.

This is true but is often used to defend certain pedagogical practices- fair enough. But that’s why what we assess and the methods we use are so important because they do alter our relationship with the subject and with knowledge. So when it’s not right, nor are exams a reflection of the subject

I totally agree with this but it’s why I want so much for the exams to measure better things in better ways. I want to ensure that if I have to tech to the test that’s enriching, especially for those marginalised students. Enjoying learning shouldn’t be for outside school and for the privileged

Do grades make students happier? Debatable, no doubt. What good grades do is afford young people more choices. Especially individual and groups who are marginalised. And does the freedom to choose make people happier? I think so.

This is my favourite results response so far though.

It was the same at my daughter's school last year - and by the time the reporter turned up there were only four students left, and they didn't jump with much enthusiasm! The photo in the paper might be better - I took this with my phone.

Also local paper reports on twins who each got A*A*A while also competing for GB in skiing.

R has been asked in for the college results day photo op (a day before results, presumably so they are all still smiling 😄). I’ve warned her about the jumping.

The morning me is thankful to the yesterday evening me for going to bed at 10.13pm because I was really tired.

Next week is looking pretty busy so today I’m just going to abandon all my responsibilities and read books.

I do love my boy because he is a wonderful human being (even if it does take him 3 days to reply to a message). He is also very, very funny.

Really anxious and stressed about the week ahead. We have the staff 'Great Cultural Curry Cook Off' after school on Wednesday and their are 14 entrants. Bangladesh, Jamaicia, UK, Pakistan, Cameron, Morocco... it ain't no joke. Rice is provided though.
