Today is the 75th anniversary of the publication of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Yeah, you thought you couldn’t feel any more ancient today!

It’s been a long week and I’m definitely ready for home but this little robin has other ideas.

Our school’s over 120 years old. I had been head less than two years, in a MAT even less than that, when it was closed due to being unsafe. Hopefully the “long term estates strategy” being published “very soon” means that other children and communities won’t have to go through what ours have.

So interesting. School leaders need to create an environment and establish norms that make it easy for our teachers to do their job really well.

This week I spent time in another school in our town. Today I’m visiting one in the North East. These visits are so important. It’s easy to become isolated. Getting out there really helps to share best practise and gain new perspectives. Excited to connect with another school community today.

I am so blessed to have two amazing little sisters. Danielle has been accepted on to NIHR internship 🥳

They told me it would feel intense during the design phase of the new school build and they weren’t joking. Then throw in a mid week trip to Alder Hey for my youngest. I was ready for the weekend and it’s been lovely. Just catching up on Jools Holland before we go again tomorrow. 1 more week.

We had a great time at the Cumbria Golden Apples last night. Lovely spending time with people going above and beyond in all areas of education. We were so busy listening to lots of inspirational stories that the only photo I took was one of us in the car before we went in.
