Cuckoo catfish are endemic to Lake Tanganyika, but they are able to exploit all mouthbrooding cichlids like they try in my video. This NatGeo video shows this behavior nicely with a parasitized Shuja horei, a Tanganyika endemic cichlid. 🐟🧪

Today is (apparently) National Trivia Day! Here’s my favorite fun piece of shark trivia: Greenland sharks, which can live to be over 400 years old, have been found with reindeer and polar bear remains in their stomachs!

This isn't always appropriate - good evidence from Europe that promoting fisheries for Signal crayfish, for example, encourages their spread by humans to new locations. I'd be very surprised if this phenomenon was restricted to Signal crayfish and not also to other aquatic invasives.
