The Middle Snake River in Idaho is known for trout aquaculture. There is also tropical fish aquaculture. You can find the escapees in some warm creeks. This is an African cichlid I caught today, likely a hybrid.

You can catch really big cutthroat trout in Nevada’s Pyramid Lake. Or you can strike out. Eleven hours fishing today and not a trout to show for it. The beautiful weather made for a nice view but poor fishing. Not the first time & won’t be the last. #flyfishing

It's the funding of taxonomic research & training that's dying out. Without an ability to identify life forms, we can't recognize/quantify invasions & extinctions and their impacts on ecosystems. Imagine trying to repair a complex steel structure if you can't distinguish different types of bearings.
