Thinking my thoughts while writing in the baby book... I don't fear the inevitable death (it's annoying I'll always have something left to do) but I do fear memory loss and by extension the act of unintentional forgetting. I cherish my memories and those in my life.

There was a young wolf spider stuck in the tub yesterday and I put a towel on the side to help it get out while I was at work. Last night I found it downstairs eating a camel cricket, the likes of which have been plentiful this season! Spiders are your friend!

In honor of Super Mario Bros. 40th, I'm posting the time I fell into a Mario trance and broke 1,000,000 on the All-Stars version on original hardware. I forget how many times over I beat the game but it was thrilling!

I'll be taking the step-daughter and nephew to see @alyankovic.bsky.social in Newport on the 16th, planned since Christmas, and the expected delivery date for the baby is the 17th! There's a chance we may be dressed like Al in the hospital photos!

About two more weeks to go until Charlie gets here! I'm sure the panic will set in once I get enough sleep, right!? Still much to do to the house but at least the baby room is nearly done!

House update: the baby room is just about done! Before and after! Going to be used as temp storage as I continue to paint the rest of the house.

Baby room work last night! Removed 15 butt loads of staples, hand-sanded, vacuumed and started laying down the vinyl wood planks. Hoping to be done by the weekend so we can start decorating before baby gets here!

Some positives of the day: starting the painting process in one room and all boxes should be gone after all rooms are finished! The house is finally comfy!

Wife and I were slapped with a $8125 bill from the apartment complex when we had in writing it was $2650 to pay... yet they never returned my calls on that payment process. I've got the call logs, $2650 and the bill (with another clerical error on it) and heading to their office right now. Wish luck

I have to use sheer force of will to not go on ebay and buy every single miniature model that salespeople used to carry around for cold calls and meetings. The idea of being a neon salesman in the 1930s with a briefcase of tubes with onboard electricity is just such a wonderful different world.
