As a small business I understand the sentiment behind boycotting AMZ, however cancelling KU isn’t sticking it to the man, it’s actually hurting the indie authors who rely on it for income. The flow on will also impact editors, artists, cover designers… & btw pirating instead is never a valid option!

Shop small for Black Friday sales! Indie bookstores appreciate (and need) your sales more than Amazon does.

It will get increasingly hard to sell books in 2025. Corporations wish to run us to the ground & censor our content. Some people haven’t read a book since grade school & others wish to ban them. Where you purchase matters greatly. Please fight the hardest for literature now.

Hard to keep up with replies to this. Direct any outrage toward the incredibly doable action of purchasing physical books by living authors from local bookstores. Bookseller friends tell me Black Friday has totally been devoured by online giants and local shops primarily get last-minute panic buyers

Author friends, do a search for your name on Spotify. There’s a lot of piracy accounts advertising free downloads. Almost all my published friends I searched for have at least one of their books pirated and listed there. Screenshot and send it to your publisher’s legal team.

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky

people who use goodreads: jeff bezos owns goodreads and if you want a better alternative there is a black woman owned company called storygraph that you can use to replace it. you can transfer all of your data from goodreads to storygraph and have your mind be free of trumpie jeff bezos! win win. 💙
