RIP to the great Isiah Whitlock Jr. He was in Halifax in 2016 filming the TV series THE MIST, and he stopped by

It was a Criterion kinda Christmas. Fun fact, Tim Burton was all set to direct AFTER HOURS, but he graciously stepped aside when he heard Scorsese was interested. He made PEE WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE instead. I’d say everything worked out.

Not enough discourse about how Marty Supreme has pretty much the same opening credits sequence as Look Who’s Talking.

Look, I'm sure that Nolan's adaptation of "The Odyssey" will be fun, but I highly doubt it will be as good as the original.

I found this great issue of THOR at the flea market today, in which Donald Blake, with the help of Dr. Strange, has to retrieve his magic walking stick from a couple of hobos who are using it for a fishing rod after Loki has thrown it out of a window.

The 1981 horror film WOLFEN opens with the title creatures murdering a NYC real estate nepo baby who had plans to one day run for president. The most sacred timeline of all, you might say.

You know that one Paul Smith issue of X-Men where Rogue and Wolverine fight Viper and Silver Samurai in Japan, right? That issue rules.

Half Superman, half Batman, all awesome! If you want to learn all about one of the strangest supervillains of the Silver Age, you need my ALL-STAR COMPOSITE SUPERMAN bootleg comic, complete with backup story starring Steve Ditko’s Odd Man & a tribute to Keith Giffen. DM me if you’re interested.

is dropping his top 10 comics of ‘25–aka The Spicy List. He’s one of my cohorts at
@strangeadventures.bsky.social
and I can attest to his good taste in, and enthusiasm for, comics. He also sold a stack of dad-rock CDs to Benicio Del Toro one time. Or so he says.

I don’t remember how I came into possession of Dee Dee Ramone’s rap debut on cassette, but I’m glad I did. I don’t have anything to actually listen to it on, which is great so I won’t be tempted to throw it on (I have heard it though, and it’s about as good as you’d expect).

I drew this strip for

21 years ago! I like to think my drawing has improved, but my sense of humour is still just as juvenile (I really think L’il Dopey is poised to make a comeback).

A few years back I became briefly obsessed with the fact that DC’s SANDMAN and Marvel’s SLEEPWALKER, two very different comics about characters from the dream realm, were being published concurrently…these pieces were the result.

Seeing lots of Thanksgiving posts from US friends today, which of course makes me think of WKRP IN CINCINNATI, which of course makes me think of Jan Smithers as Bailey Quarters. Here’s my take on my first big TV crush, done a few years back.

New work from
@tonymcmillen.bsky.social
is always exciting! In an age of soulless AI slop, nothing is more exciting to me than seeing art that could only come from the hand/mind/heart of a real human being, and Tony’s work is so singular and original that it could have only come from him.

I’m at a bit of an impasse these days, trying to capture the energy & immediacy of my rough layouts in my final finished pages, which always wind up more carefully controlled. If I can fuse these two sensibilities I might be on to something.

I made my DISCO RIPPER comic in the spirit of early ‘80s slasher flicks like TERROR TRAIN, PROM NIGHT, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. Perfect reading for the spooky season, it’s available at
@strangeadventures.bsky.social
and through the link in my bio.
