Putting aside all of the legal and political analysis for the moment, my heart is absolutely breaking for the families of trans kids across the country, and my rage and determination to keep fighting for them will not be contained.

Anguish over the Skirmetti opinion is a completely appropriate and justified reaction. But just like w/ Dobbs, state constitutions provide add'l protections. Some state EPCs are much broader than the fed EPC; others have implicit privacy/bodily autonomy rights. The fight moves to state courts now.

On the shutting the fuck up part -- Cops will keep questioning you even after you ask for a lawyer. It is purposely disorienting and makes it seem like you really have to talk. If you do, there are ways that those statements can be used against you. So you really have to focus on shutting up!
