On a happy note our chickens have decided the other half of our yard is safe now and have made it all the way to the back fence!

I've been living through this hellscape called military academia... The highlight of the semester was that after they furloughed our civilians and I was teaching ~120 cadets biology, a raccoon snuck into one of our large auditoriums on the 2nd floor and evaded capture for 3 days.

I accidentally got in a fight on a random reddit post and the person still doesn't believe you can get pulled over for not having a registration sticker because "most if not all" don't even have those anymore... I'm trying not to continue to feed my rage monster...

My pasty butt chick didn't make it... Now I have to either integrate her sister with my older ones or hope one of the stores have baby chicks still...

I got two new babies. One of them has a case of the pasty butt. Hopefully she pulls through but she's small and her poor butt keeps crusting over... The previous are now essentially teenagers and will be moving outside soon.

I'm really regretting trading getting a masters degree for 4 years...

Running 5 miles and then immediately being able to eat good food is a thing of magic!

I'm literally just waiting for them to cut the biology department... They might keep the classes required to have the various pre-med classes covered but I can see the department and major being completely cut.

They did not “accidentally” fire anyone. This is the plan. They’re going to fire anyone they can, and if something breaks badly, they’ll say “oh, no. That was an accident.” Of course, when it comes to nuclear safety or air traffic control or food safety, that interval is invariably fatal for some.

Today we talked about how the department would run if we lost all our probies and possibly civilians... 🙃

We finally got told our courses needed to be evaluated for DEI and gender ideology... On the bright side none of our courses were flagged for being problems yet based on the EO restrictions so at least there's that.
