This journal is now open for submissions from currently and previously incarcerated, as well as those affected by the carceral system (family, friends, etc.). It is edited by Beth Gylys, four creative writing graduate students at Georgia State, and three incarcerated students.

The people who wrote this opinion piece apparently looked at David Brooks’ “How America Got Mean” in The Atlantic and thought: How about we double down on the utterly ahistorical nostalgia that validates every rightwing talking point!? And The New York Times decided: That’s exactly what we need!

In the spirit of not saying the same thing I did on twitter... If you added up all the times in my life I've been called f@ggot, about half of them were during the 6 weeks (cumulative, across 3 years) I did computer camp on this campus in my early teens.

I hate the bad "objective" literary quality chart the stupid man made. I hate the fact that it's getting him attention. I hate the fact that Twitter is now monetized in a way that actively incentives bad stupid people to say bad stupid things.
